wenty-eight teams from eight countries have confirmed their participation in the Asia-Pacific Beach Volleyball competition at Jakabaring Sport City, Palembang, South Sumatra, on April 19-22.
The countries are Australia, Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia as a host country.
The competition, which is organized by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), will be offering a total of US$30,000 in prize money.
“It will be a tough competition as the teams from Japan and other countries that are the mecca of world beach volleyball will raise the bar high,” organizing committee head Syaidina Ali said on Thursday.
She said all the teams had arrived in Palembang and were ready to take to the sand.
