Convenience store in S. Jakarta catches fire

7-Eleven convenience store on Jl. Tebet Raya, South Jakarta, caught fire on Tuesday afternoon, no one was injured.

Flames burnt the building'€™s storage area on the second floor at around 2:30 p.m., creating panic among employees and customers.

'€œSmoke was seen at around 2:30 p.m. from the second floor. An employee could be heard shouting and asking for help,'€ Supri, an eyewitness, said as quoted by beritajakarta.com.

Up to 20 fire trucks were deployed and fought the flames for about an hour.

'€œThe flames caused damage to the second floor. An investigation on the cause of the fire is underway,'€ firefighter Irianto said.
