tihad Airways has announced its first daily flight connecting Abu Dhabi and Washington, D.C.
The direct flight from Abu Dhabi International Airport to Washington Dulles International Airport will take 15 hours, while the Washington-Abu Dhabi route takes 13 hours and 13 minutes.
The flight will use the ultra-long range Airbus A340-500 aircraft that consists of three-class cabins; 12 in Diamond First, 28 in Pearl Business and 200 in Coral Economy.
'The government and corporate customers from both markets had given us strong indications that the Abu Dhabi-Washington route could support a daily service from day one,' said James Hogan, president and CEO of the UAE's national carrier.
'We responded by committing 3,360 seats per week and already the route's booking are encouraging in both directions.'
The Washington route is the airline's fourth flight to North America following services to New York, Chicago and Toronto.
