he Public Works Ministry gave the go-ahead for aRp 18 billion ($1.85 million) construction project to build a roadleading to Lakey Beach coastal resort in Lakey village, Hu'usub-district, Dompu regency, West Nusa Tenggara.
'The Rp 18 billion, to build a 3-kilometerroad from Hu'u village to Lakey Beach, is taken from this year's national budget,'Suardi Leo of the West Nusa Tenggara National Road office told TheJakarta Post
in Mataram on Sunday.
Leo said that if everything went as planned, theroad would have two lanes and measure 6-meters wide and stretch for 3-kilometers.
'It will make access easier for tourists who wantto visit Lakey Beach,' he said.
According to Leo, construction would commence onceDompu regency completed all land acquisition, which is estimated tobe in early May. (asw/dic)
