Your letters: Blasphemy laws are blasphemous

I

refer to an article titled '€œMixing prayer and Maroon 5: Students dare to face the odds,'€ (The Jakarta Post, April 29, p6) by By Prodita Sabarini.

Blasphemy laws are blasphemous in the sense that they infer that God, assuming there is one, requires lawyers and semi-literate policemen to carry out his will.

The girls did something inappropriate and immature but expelling them from school and ruining their futures is also inappropriate. They are just kids and I think the outraged section of the community needs to look at the real problems in society.
