he Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) questioned Mandailing Natal Regent Hidayat Batubara in Medan on Tuesday in relation to the recent arrest of three suspects for alleged bribery.
Intelligence assistant Jaja Subarja of the North Sumatra prosecutors' office confirmed the questioning, saying the investigation went on into 'the late hours' of Tuesday night.
'Yes, he is being questioned,' a KPK member involved in the investigation said.
Previously the KPK raided Batubara's home on Jl. Sei Asahan, Medan, on Tuesday, confiscating a number of documents.
KPK spokesman Johan Budi said more than one suspect had been detained in Medan. One of the suspects is said to be Mandailing Natal Public Works Office head Chairul Anwar. (asw)
