Devour picked the most interesting videos from two of the busiest video channels on the Internet, YouTube and Vimeo. Now an app, Devour also categorizes interesting stuff by origin and style. While the app and the videos are free, the paying advertisers that fund its small operation thankfully went through the same rigorous curating process: interestingness.

A Vine time

What can you do when you are as successful as Twitter, but don't want to miss out the next big thing? You create something new. Which leads us to Vine, a YouTube + Instagram mashup whose app allows you to capture six second or less short videos, and then bravely post them to the waiting world. Twitter believes brevity inspires creativity. Within days of its launch, Vine was housing videos in the hundreds of thousands. Best of all is that it uses your existing Twitter account.

Image bank

Visual graphics artist Kevin Burg began experimenting with the .gif animated image format in 2009. But it was only when he partnered with photographer Jamie Beck that the cinemagraph format was born. Marrying motion and still image in a minimalistic way, a cinemagraph animates a certain area, or areas of a still image, to create a life-like imagery. If you think Vine is still too much for your tastes, needs and capacities, cinemagraph might be for you. Just make sure you are not stationary when you're enjoying this.
