AKARTA: Anish Shakya, a Nepalese national, is a suspect after a fatal car crash case on Saturday night that killed Sikun Supriyadi, a motorcyclicst, in Kemang, South Jakarta.
'The police have named Anish the suspect after conducting an investigation at the crime scene and interviewing witnesses,' Jakarta Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Rikwanto said on Sunday.
Anish has been charged under Article 310 of the Traffic Law that carries a maximum sentence of six years in prison for alleged recklessdriving that causes death.
'His blood and urine samples are being examined by the health division of the Jakarta Police to determine whether he was drunk or not when driving,' Rikwanto said.
The police have difficulty in interrogating him because he cannot speak Indonesian fluently.
'His Indonesian is bad. We need a translator who understands Nepali,' Rikwanto said.
