A joint force of the National Police and the Indonesian Military (TNI) patrolled areas notorious for hosting illegal street races late on Saturday, but the streets were deserted.

Six hundred and forty three personnel took part in the patrol, which was held following reports of increasing numbers of traffic violations involving motorcycle gangs that created a disturbance for other street users.

Your comments:

It's not surprising that the police did not find any violations. I notice that Greater Jakarta traffic polices performance is the worst in law enforcement involving motorcycles.

It seems there is causal relationship between traffic violations by motorcyclists and the poor performance of the Jakarta traffic cops.

Street racing, illegal use of noisy exhausts, neglecting the rules of the road are among the obvious violations. But the cops don't notice them, which is why Jakarta's traffic is getting worse and worse.

I expect our President to focus more on the Jakarta traffic police's performance because Jakarta is the capital of the country and it reflects on the whole country.
