I don't believe all that money belongs to him. Higher officers must be involved.

I doubt very much anything will come of it. The people he held and laundered the money for are obviously high up in government and police. If he goes down they will ...and that just won't happen.

I may be excused for being extremely cynical here. I happen to know police officers who are honest and dedicated to their jobs. But they are far from rich.
By now we know that our Indonesian Police Force is a veritable hive of corrupt people. Does it really have the desire and the will to cleanse itself?
Do all police officers, from the lowest in rank to the highest in position, really desire to emulate the worthy example of the late gen. (ret) Hoegeng Iman Santoso, who was renowned for his honesty and simple way of living, and bring back our now almost-nonexistent trust in the Indonesian Police Force?
Adj. First Insp. Labora Sitorus was a virtual and abundant 'horn of plenty' for so many for several years ' and he still is as, having
Rp 1.5 trillion in his bank accounts, it is very likely that he'll still be able to successfully wriggle his way out of many a tight spot.
He has not yet been detained and had refused to come in for questioning, so his fellow police officers are being extremely careful in handling this arrogant crook. Are they expecting a part of the spoils?

Until investigated, confiscate all possessions of all persons ever in contact with this Labora person; until they can give proof of legitimacy for every rupiah.

I hope the Papua Police, who are investigating an officer for holding a bank account containing more than Rp 1 trillion will lead to other officers with similar cases.
If the money is allegedly from illegal logging and fuel smuggling; then there must be more officers who are in the same predicament; now only awaiting to be similarly discovered.
The sooner we can discover and confiscate the loot; the sooner we can distribute it to the needy there!
