housands of global leaders will gather in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to attend one of the largest conferences of the decade to focus on girls and women.
The landmark conference, Women Deliver 2013, will call on the global community to continue to place girls and women's health and rights at the central of the new global development agenda.
'Women Deliver 2013 could not come at a more critical time,' said Women Deliver president and founder, Jill Sheffield, in a statement made available to The Jakarta Post on Thursday.
She said after the conference, global leaders would release their recommendations on the post-Millennium Development Goals framework.
The conference will be held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from May 28 to 30.
The conference will focus on three key themes: investing in girls and women, ensuring global access to family planning and prioritizing girls and women in the post-2015 development framework.
Women Deliver 2013 will engage voices from around the world not only those who attend the conference in person but also virtually.
'Through these conversations, the meeting will demonstrate the importance of prioritizing girls and women now and in the years to come'. (ebf)
