Of the 101 migrants, 20 were children below the age of 10. They are all being held at the Immigration Office in Cilacap, Central Java.
'We are still identifying them. [We are struggling with] the language barrier,' coordinator of the Cilacap branch of the National Search and Rescue Agency, Trijoko Priyono, said when he was contacted on Friday.
He said a 27-meter-long wooden vessel had been spotted by locals on Thursday morning but due to high tides the Search and Rescue team was only able to evacuate the ship at 5:30 a.m. on Friday.
'It was initially seen in Cilacap's waters but on Thursday evening it had moved to Kebumen regency,' Trijoko said.
The ship is an Indonesian vessel.
