ouse of Representatives member Irgan Chairul Mahfiz urged the Indonesian Embassy in Malaysia to assist two Indonesian workers sentenced to death by the Shah Alam High Court in Selangor, Malaysia.

“I hope our embassy stands by them so that they can escape the death penalty. I also expect the Transmigration and Manpower Ministry and National Labor Placement and Protection Agency [BNP2TKI] to take legal action to protect them,” he said as quoted by kompas.co.id on Friday.

The two brothers, identified as Frans Hiu and Dharry Frully Hiu, hail from Pontianak, West Kalimantan and worked as shopkeepers in Malaysia. Both were accused of killing a burglar in their employer’s house. They allegedly fought the burglar before finally strangling him to death.
