Ronel Hualda of the Philippines won the 144.5-kilometer sixth stage of 2013 Tour de Singkarak (TdS) from Padang Pariaman to Painan on Saturday.

Hualda, who rides for Team 7 Eleven, outsprinted his opponents to the finish line to win the stage in 3 hours 40 minutes and 7 seconds.

Mohd Zamri Saleh of Trengganu Cycling Team finished second while Hossein Nateghi of Trabriz Petrochemical Team came in at third.

Team 7 Eleven was the winning team of the stage with a time of 10:30:21. The National Team came in at second place with a time of 10:30:21, followed by Customs Cycling Club at 10:30:21

National team member Rastra Patria Dinawan was the only local participant to get into the top 10.

Despite his run to finish in fourth place, Rastra failed to surpass Aiman Cahyadi as Indonesia'€™s best rider.

It was a tough race from the start at Padang Panjang on the relatively flat route with all the riders staying in a big group.

At the first designated sprint point at 31.5 kilometers, Rustom Lim of the Philippines pulled his way to become the leader followed by Mohd Zamri Saleh, Hossein Nateghi and Endra Wijaya of Customs Cycling Club.

At the 62-kilometer point, Lim was again the fastest sprinter to beat Eko Bayu Nurhidayat of Tuah Sakato, Zamri Saleh and Nateghi.

Lim was also unbeatable in the uphill races with him winning the 77-km and 91.5 assents.

After the mountains, the riders got into the big bunch ahead of the finish line when some ventured a breakaway.

The 1,057-km tour will conclude with the seventh stage from Padang Panjang to Padang on Sunday, covering 143.5 kilometers.

Despite falling out of the top ten in the sixth stage, Ghader Mizbani has a big chance to win the tour.

The Tabriz rider still holds the yellow jersey by booking the fastest time of 22.55.19. He is more than five minutes better than second placed Johan Coenen of Team Differdange-Losch.

Teammate and fellow Iranian Amir Kolahdozhagh is in third place with 22.47.19.

Mizbani looked content simply to remain in the group to preserve his top position.

He said the team was ready for a tough race on Sunday to maintain the yellow jersey.
