olice revealed new evidence and withdrew Arianto 'Ari'Wibowo's suspect status on acareless driving case, today. A CCTV recording showed the victim running intothe middle of the street as Ari approached.
'The CCTV recording shows that the fault wasn't Ari's. The victim ran carelessly into the street as Ari passed on his Ducati superbike. We have therefore retracted the suspect status,' Jakarta Traffic Police' law enforcement division head Adj. Sr. Comr. Hindarsono said on Thursday as quoted by tribunnews.com.
The CCTV recording was obtained from a restaurant near the scene.
Ari was riding his Ducati at an alleged speed of 40 km per hours on Jl. Wolter Monginsidi in South Jakarta when the 80-year-old Karmadi ran into the street.
Karmadi died at Pertamina Hospital. (dic)
