P

resident Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono had a collective courtesy call with theheads of delegations of all 34 participating nations at the 6th ForeignMinisterial Meeting of the Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation(FEALAC) in Nusa Dua, Bali, on Friday.

Yudhoyono welcomed the delegations and expressed hope that the FEALAC could contribute more to global stability and engage with other regional forums such as the East Asia Summit and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), according to presidential spokesman for foreign affairs Teuku Faizasyah.

'The President also mentioned his role as the co-chair of the

High-Level Panel on the Post-2015 Development Agenda, the final report of which was just submitted to the UN. The President suggested that FEALAC state members could contribute to the achievement of the targets and indicators set in the final report,' Faizasyah said after accompanying the President in the meeting.

Also with the President were Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa, Cabinet Secretary Dipo Alam, Coordinating Political, Legal and Security Affairs Minister Djoko Suyanto, and Tourism and Creative Economy Minster Mari Elka Pangestu.

FEALAC consists of 16 East Asian and 20 Latin American nations. These member states make up 33.43 percent of the world's gross domestic product (GDP), with total trade reaching US$13.14 trillion or 29.82 percent of global trade.

About 24 percent of the world's foreign direct investment (FDI) comes from FEALAC members.
