Cool Nature by Arie Hidayat (left), Lie Kuang (center) and Andy Lie
Summer 2013 is the season to soak up the sun and be fresh and bright from top to toe, and L'Oréal Professionnel's (LP) collection, the OMBRÃS NATURE look, is the perfect style for the sunny months.
OMBRÃS NATURE hair color fades from dark to light ' often referred as dip-dying ' the term is borrowed from the French word meaning shaded or shading.
This sun-kissed look is in high demand in 2013, with a host of Hollywood household names such as Jennifer Lawrence, Drew Barrymore and Sarah Jessica Parker sporting this contrasting color.
For this spring/summer season, LP came up with the idea of applying a subtle color gradient with a touch of highlighting tones for a natural ombre look.
Inspired by hyper-natural and floral looks with explosive colors on runways the world over, LP makes gradient hair colors that are sophisticatedly natural, combined with a 'done-undone style', which is very aligned to the floral pattern print popular this season.
'OMBRÃS NATURE highlights the coloration technique by combining two or three colors from roots to tips. Such a technique will then be combined with a soft highlight, thus, creating volume,' explained Indra.
The concept behind OMBRÃS NATURE, was informed by a collaboration with world-renowned hairstylist James Pecis and hair coloration expert Nathan Walter.
Walter applied the OMBRÃS NATURE highlight-coloring technique into hair screaming with character selecting the best of this season's hair trends.
Pecis revisited the 'it-cut' of the moment, the messy bob ' a look inspired by Karlie Kloss, Arizona Muse, Daria Werbowy and Alexa Chung.
Sophisticated: The floral hues of Dior, Erdem and Cacharel are her inspiration. Her sophisticated mocha blonde ombré is finished with no-nonsense bangs.
Cool: Romantic with a rock-n-roll twist, as seen at Anne Valerie Hash, Antonio Marras and Dries Van Noten. This muse sports the season's must-have cut: A mocha ombré bob.
Pop: This summer beauty is inspired by the topical prints favored by the likes of Proenza Schouler, Gucci, or Mary Katrantzou and her tussled-mane is loose and free.
In Indonesia, LP's hairstylist ambassadors Lie Kuang, Andy Lie, Arie Hidayat and Bambang Harry and Irwan Doke interpreted took Pecis' OMBRÃS NATURE looks and styled them for Indonesian woman.
Jakarta-based Irwan styled a short bob with cold colors that radiated an androgynous romantic style with a touch of class.
Andy from Medan, North Sumatra, blended warm colors with a loose waved style, creating a strong beauty look.
Arie and Bambang from Surabaya, East Java, styled a medium-length cut with bangs and applied warm colors and a choppy texture. The look is finished off with a natural wave.
Semarang, Central Java, based Lie produced a natural yet dramatic style; a combination of long natural straight hair with volume and warm colors.
'The OMBRÃS NATURE concept is much friendlier to local customers because of its subtle color gradient. Last season, we had shadow illusion, a similar ombre technique but with more color contrast ' but not many Indonesian women liked that style,' Lie said.
