fter being greeted with enthusiastic applause from 25,000 members of the audience at last year's concert of rock legend Sepultura in Tenggarong, Kutai Kertanegara, now the Kukar Rock Fest 2013 committee has invited another metal giant, the Helloween.
The Hamburg-based metal band is slated to perform for free at Panahan Square in the Aji Imbut sports complex on Sunday, June 16.
Promoter Akhmad Akbar Haka Saputra said members of Helloween had been keen to play before the Tenggarong public because they had heard about the success of Sepultura at last year's concert.
'Besides, the band is a living legend in the rock music industry. Millions of copies of their albums have been sold worldwide,' he said.
Helloween, which reached its peak in the 1980s to early 1990s, is famous for its hit songs like 'Dr. Stein', 'Future World', 'Windmill' and 'Forever and One'.
