'The sentiment must be one of collaboration, partnership, not blaming here and there. Let's focus on putting the fire out,' Marty told a press conference at his office in Jakarta.
Commenting on calls for the Indonesian government to prosecute those responsible for the haze, Marty said that it was also the wish of the Indonesian people.
'Calls of such a type are actually a little bit redundant, in the sense that we Indonesia, its government and its people, wish for those who are responsible to be held accountable,' the minister said.
'There is actually no need for such a reminder. We are in fully aware of the impact and the need to take action to ensure that those who are responsible are held accountable,' Marty added.
Marty also cited similar incidents in other countries.
'One must remember, incidents like this is not uniquely Indonesian. In the past, there have been forest fires in the US and recurring forest fires in Australia,' he said.
