Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) plans to deploy 12,000 agents in an effort to expand its branchless banking reach.
BRI Corporate Secretary Muhammad Ali said as quoted by kontan.co.id on Thursday that the agents would be able to provide registration, deposit and cash withdrawal services and each of them would receive Rp 3,500 of commission per transaction.
As of now, BRI has only 14 agents and they are located only in two provinces - Central Java and East Java.
