T

he Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) demands the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to conduct a further probe on coordinating minister for the economy Hatta Rajasa for his alleged involvement in the beef graft.

Hatta's name was mentioned by one of the witnesses in the case, Juard Effendi, during a trial at the Corruption Court. Juard is a director at PT Indoguna Utama, the importing company who had received beef import quota allocation from the agricultural ministry led by PKS senior figure Suswono.

"The testimonial needs to be followed up by the KPK," PKS politician Aboebakar Al Habsy said as quoted by kontan.co.id on Thursday.

In Juard's testimony, he said Elda Devianne Adiningrat, a lobbyist, had often claimed that she had a close relationship with Hatta in convincing Indoguna President Director Maria Elizabeth Liman to ask for additional quota at the agricultural ministry.

Aboebakar said that the close relationship between Elda and Hatta needed to be clarified.

"As a seasoned businesswoman, Maria definitely does not easily believe anyone who claims to have a close relationship with a coordinating minister," Aboebakar said.
