argaulan Butar-Butar, the head of the transportation office and of the school bus unit in North Jakarta, has been appointed the new head of Transjakarta, replacing M. Akbar who is to lead the land transportation division at the Transportation Agency.
Butar-Butar was one of 51 echelon III officials rotated in the city administration. Reliable sources asking for anonymity said Akbar was rotated because of frequent fires that gutted several Transjakarta buses during his tenure.
“Rotation is normal in the bureaucracy. Akbar headed Transjakarta for three years and rotation is needed for personnel refreshment,” Transportation Agency head Udar Pristono said, adding that Butar-Butar was appointed in the right place because he had expertise in vehicle examination.
Akbar replaced Sunardi Sinaga, who was appointed head of the operational section at the transportation agency.
Other staff who were rotated were: Jony Tagor as secretary of the environmental impact control agency, Diah Ratna Ambarwati as head of the environmental impact control agency’s laboratory and Mera Nuringsih as head of the financial management unit in Central Jakarta.
