The accident happened just an hour before the city's 486th anniversary celebration were due to begin.
Chief Brig. Hadirat Syukur Lombu, who was on the scene, said the bus driver and his assistant had been taken to Jakarta Police headquarters for questioning.
One of the bus passengers, Haruna, said that the bus had been going to fast since it left Cileduk bus station, violating traffic regulations by moving into the busway lane several times.(hrl/dic)
