he National Police said that six out of the 61 Tanjung Gusta escapees recaptured as of Fridayafternoon were terrorist convicts.
National Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Hilman Thayib said the six were among some two hundred detainees who had fled from the prison in Medan, North Sumatra, after setting the prison ablaze on Thursday
night.
Five of the six escaped terrorist convicts identified only as AN, AA, JM, GM and BK were recaptured onFriday and the other one on Thursdaynight.
'There are nine terrorist convicts who fled from the prison. We managed to recapture six of them,' Hilman said as quoted by Antara news agency onFriday.
Police officers and soldiers have beefed up security inside and outside of Medan, especially in areas surrounding the prison to recapture the escaped inmates. (hrl)
