rosecutorsat Maumere District Court, East Nusa Tenggara, are seeking the death penaltyfor former Catholic priest and premeditated murder suspect, Herman JumatMasan.
Accordingto prosecutors, Herman violated the Criminal Code by orchestrating themurder of Yosephine Kerodok Payong, widely known as Mary Grace, and hertwo baby boys. They were confident that enough convincing evidencehad been gathered to prove Herman's role in the premeditated murder charges.
Maryused to be Herman's secret wife and the two baby boys were Herman'schildren.
'As apriest, Herman should have been a good example,' prosecutor Winarko told thehearing session on Tuesday, as quoted by tribunnews.com.
Commentingon this, Victor Nekur, one of Herman's lawyers, said he would answer theprosecutors' sentence request next week.
Hermanwas allegedly not only held responsible for the murders but also concealed thecorpses. The victim's family found the bodies after a 10 year search. (fan/dic)
