Lawyer, Supreme Court staff arrested for bribe allegation

otedlawyer Hotma Sitompul confirmed that a junior lawyer on his firm, Mario, hadbeen arrested by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) allegedly over bribery.
However, Hotma declined the rumors that Mario had been caught in the act of bribing a man, identified as D, who works at the Supreme Court.
'He was arrested but not on bribery charges,' he said on Thursday.
He also said the arrest had nothing to do with Insp. Gen. Djoko Susilo's bribery and money laundering case.
When asked about the arrest, KPK deputy chief Bambang Widjojanto refused to comment and said the KPK needed to do its job first before it could release a statement to the public.(dic)
