culptorI Nyoman Nuarta has announced readiness to continue the constructionof his prestigious art project the Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK)statue that has been going nowhere for years.

'€œI will continue the project because the statue means something for me. Besides the statue will become the country'€™s strong cultural statement in times ahead,'€ said Nuarta, as quoted by tempo.co, at the NuArt
Studio, Bandung recently.

The Garuda Wisnu Kencana Statue, located at the Ungasan Hill, a half hour drive southern from Denpasar, has been designed as a cultural and tourism icon.

Nuarta said parts of the statue would be sent to Bali gradually, starting from July 24. He said he had finished the parts in his studio in Bandung, where he resides now.(apt)
