he Tangerang Municipal Election Commission (KPUD) announced on Thursday that three pairs of candidates would race at the upcoming mayoral election on August31.
KPUD chairman Syafril Elain said the candidates were the incumbent municipal administration secretary Harry Mulya Zein and running mate Iskandar Zulkarnaen, the Abdul Syukur- Hilmi Fuad ticket and the Tb Dedi Suwandi "Miing" Gumilar- Suratno Abubakar ticket.
"Their candidate identification numbers will be determined later through a lottery onFriday," he said.
The Harry-Iskandar ticket is supported by the United Development Party (PPP), the People's Conscience Party (Hanura) and the National Ulama Awakening Party (PKNU), the Abdul- Hilmi ticket supported by the
Golkar Party and the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) and the Miing-Suratno ticket supported by the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) and the National Mandate Party (PAN).
Previously, five mayoral candidates had registered, but two of them failed to go through with the process because they had failed to complete the necessary documents. (fan/dic)
