akarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Rikwanto said a police officer was shot by unidentified men while en route to Gambir Police station in CentralJakarta.
'Second Adj.Insp. Patah Saktiyono was shot in the left side of the chest by two unidentified men on Jl Cirendeu Rata, in front of Al-Fath school, South Tangerang,' Rikwanto told The Jakarta Post
on Saturday.
He said Patah, a traffic policeman, was rushed to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital in East Jakarta.
A police team has been deployed to search for the perpetrators and find the motive behind the shooting.(hrl/dic)
