heJambi Police unveiled that they would assign snipers and Mobile Brigade(Brimob) officers to secure the roads for travelers during the IdulFitri annual exodus.

'€œWe will deploy them between Bungo and Sarolangun regencies, the border area near West Sumatra, and also in the eastern part of Jambi,'€ Jambi Police chief Brig. Gen. Satriya Hari Prasetya said.

He added that all the personnel will guard the areas for 24 hours in shifts, adding that some locations might be monitored by more officers to prevent crimes.

Not only on the roads, he went on, most of the force would be deployed to secure public places like banks.

He added that the police will organize the police operation that would start on August 2. (hrl/dic)
