BRI unit head nabbed for masterminding robbery in Lampung

he Lampung Police have arrested the head of BRI's Rawajitu unit inTulangbawang, Syahrudin Yandri Lingga, for allegedly masterminding the robberyof the bank early Tuesdaymorning. Syahrudin was arrested following statements made to the police by fourpeople arrested in connection with the case.
'Syahrudin has confessed that he was the mastermind of the robbery,' Tulangbawang Police general crimes chief Adj. Comr. Listyono Dwi Nugroho said on Tuesday.
The police shot dead two out of four suspects when they tried to hit two investigating police officers.
'We had to take them out because they wanted to hit us when we attempted to stop their car for a routine check,' he said.
According to preliminary questioning, Syahrudin spent a night at his office in Rawajitu when four robbers broke in and took him hostage. The robbers then took Rp 6.7 billion from the bank's safe.
When fleeing the scene, the robbers were stopped by the local police conducting routine checks. During early questioning, the arrested suspects claimed that Syahrudin was the mastermind behind the heist.(dic)
