SBY asks Pramuka to boost its revitalization

residentSusilo Bambang Yudhoyono called on the National Scouts (Pramuka) to utilize its52 anniversary, which fell on Wednesday,as a momentum to boost the movement'€™s revitalization process. 

'€œThe revitalization of Pramuka , which has been ongoing for seven years, must be utilized to create Pramuka as a youth movement that produces young people with strong character and nationalism,'€ Yudhoyono said in his speech during the Pramuka'€™s anniversary celebration in Cibubur, East Jakarta. 

Yudhoyono also used his speech to promote the nation'€™s character development. '€œThe fate of our nation in the next 10, 20 or 50 years will depend on today'€™s youths. We want to see that during the celebration of Indonesia'€™s 100 independence anniversary in 2045, Indonesia has become a great and developed nation,'€ he said. 

Hundreds of Pramuka members from Jakarta, Banten and West Java attended the celebration. 

A number of Cabinet members, such as Coordinating Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Minister Djoko Suyanto, Coordinating People'€™s Welfare Minister Agung Laksono, State Secretary Sudi Silalahi, Education and Culture Minister Muhammad Nuh, Youth and Sports Minister Roy Suryo Notodiprojo, as well as Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo, also attended the ceremony.(dic)
