Akil Mochtar reelected as Constitutional Court chief justice

onstitutional Court justice Akil Mochtar was reelected unanimously as thecourt chief justice for the 2013-2016 term, following five months as actingchief replacing Mahfud MD, in an internal selection process on Monday.

Akil, a former Golkar Party politician, said his chairmanship was supported by all eight judges, Harjono, Maria Farida Indarti, Muhammad Alim, Ahmad Fadlil Sumadi, Hamdan Zoelva, Anwar Usman, Arief Hidayat, and Patrialis Akbar, Kompas.com reported.

The newly elected chief justice will be sworn in at a plenary meeting held on Wednesday morning. (dic)
