n employee of the Wirogunan Prison in Yogyakarta, Agus Susatyo, who had been shot two weeks ago by a mysterious shooter, has finally died of his wounds in the Panti Rapih Hospital. No one has been held responsible for the shooting up to this date.

'€œI have been informed that Agus Susatyo has passed away at the hospital today,'€ head of Yogyakarta Law and Human Rights Ministry office Rusdianto said on Monday.

No information regarding the funeral is available.

Agus had been shot by mysterious man while sitting on the bench at his home in the Yogyakarta Penitentiary housing complex. He was being treated in the hospital ever since.

To date, the police have faced difficulties in finding the motive behind the shooting. Rumor has it, however, that Agus used to be friends with Hendrik Angel Sahetapy, a.k.a. Deki, one of the slain Cebongan prison inmates.

Corroborating this rumor was the Mercedes Benz parked at Agus'€™s house. The car was believed to have been owned by Deki.

Commenting on this, Rusdianto said he had never been informed about Agus'€™ activities outside working hours.

'€œAll I know is that Agus worked in the prison'€™s kitchen. I know nothing about his outside activities, let alone the rumor that he was Deki'€™s friend,'€ he said.

Yogyakarta Police spokeswoman Adj. Sr. Comr. Anny Pudjiastuti said the police were still in the dark about Agus shooting, including whether he was Deki'€™s friend or not.(dic)
