'Everything is under control and we are focusing on rebuilding the prison,' head of North Sumatra Law and Human Rights Ministry office Budi Sulaksana said on Wednesday.
The ministry's prison division head, Amran Silalahi, said 442 inmates had been transferred to 13 different prisons throughout the province.
'By doing, this we hope Labuhan Ruku prison will have enough space for the remaining inmates,' he said.
The riot broke out after inmates were denied remissions. The inmates set the prison ablaze and 84 inmates, not 100 as previously reported, escaped.(dic)
