The Jakarta Taxation Agency has extended the deadline for property tax (PBB)
payments to Dec.31
from the previous Aug.28.
Agency head Iwan Setiawandi said on
Friday that Jakarta
residents who paid after Aug.28 would not be fined.
'Considering that many residents were affected by flooding and fire, we are waiving
the [2 percent] fine until December,' Iwan said at City Hall.
Iwan voice hope that the move would help boost the city's tax income.
The agency has so far collected Rp 2.95 trillion in property tax, or 80 percent
of the total annual target of Rp 3.6 trillion.
