German cultural center GoetheHaus will screen a 2007 documentary film Nach der Musik (After the Music) by Igor Heitzmann on Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. The movie tells the story of Berlin conductor Otmar Suitner, who had two families: one in the East and one in the West of the divided city. Sixteen years after the Berlin Wall came down he had to retire and music disappeared from his life. This film is about the son's journey to the father, discovering his art and exploring the hidden sides of their family story. Father and son travel together for the first time to find out what is left after the music. Admission is free and reservations are not required. French troupe Compagnie Non Nova will play their theater-circus The Wind Plays: Vortex & Afternoon of a Foehn at Salihara cultural center from Sept. 21 to 23 at 8 p.m. The play is about a swirling wind and the human struggle within, with the actors both playing with the wind and also being played by it. Afternoon of a Foehn features a puppeteer playing with plastic bag dolls, which are blown by the wind around the stage. The troupe is a theater-circus company established by Phia Ménard that has performed in 41 countries. Admission is Rp 35,000 for students and Rp 75,000 (US$7) for the general public. South Korean girl group Girls' Generation will play a concert in Jakarta on Sept. 14 as part of their 2013 World TourGirls & Peace. Girls' Generation (also known by their Korean moniker SNSD ' So Nyeo Shi Dae) is a South Korean girl group formed by S.M. Entertainment in 2007. The nine-member group consists of Taeyeon, Jessica, Sunny, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung, Yoona and Seohyun. Tickets price are between Rp 600,000 and Rp 1,500,000 (US$138).
