RI brings home 7 awards from China's trade expo

he Trade Ministry has announced Indonesiahas received seven awards at the prestigious 10th China-ASEANExpo held from Sept 3-6 in Nanning, China.
'This is a great achievement that we must be proud of,' Trade Ministry director of promotion Pradnyawati said in Nanning on Saturday as quoted by Antara news agency.
As many as 97 Indonesian companies and 120 individual participants (booths) represented Indonesia in the Expo. Some 12 of the 120 booths sold civet coffee, locally known kopi luwak.
The seven awards are the Commemoration Award for the City of Charm, Best Organizer Award, Special Contribution Award, Best Exhibitor Award, Best Promotion and Investment Cooperation, Best City of Charm Pavilion and Best ASEAN Brand Galleria.
The CAEXPO is an annual event held in Nanning. It is the realization of an ASEAN-China Meeting agreement in Bali and aims to introduce ASEAN products to the Chinese market.
'This expo is a medium for businesspeople and entrepreneurs from ASEAN countries and their Chinese counterparts to interact,' said Gusmardi Bustami, another Trade Ministry official. (hrl/dic)
