Indonesia will purchase one hectare of land in Australia to be used as a beef cattle ranch, a minister says.
'The ranch will be specifically used to breed calves. After a few months, the calves will be brought to Indonesia,' State-Owned Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan said as quoted byKontan.co.id on Wednesday.
Dahlan said that breeding calves in Australia would be much cheaper than in Indonesia.
'We hope this measure will go some way to resolving the issue of beef availability in Indonesia,' he said.
