Musician and producer Ahmad Dhani has announced his intention to file a lawsuit against PT Prudential Life Assurance for refusing to pay the Rp 500 million (U$43,338) medical bills of his youngest son, identified only as AQJ or 'Dul'.
Through his lawyers, Lydia Wongsonegoro and Teguh Sriraharjo, Dhani challenged the insurance company's reason behind the refusal, which said that no money would be paid because Dul had violated the law. Tempo.co reported.
The lawyers insisted that, according to the agreement, the payment could only be cancelled if Dul was found guilty and taken under the police custody.
'We will file a lawsuit soon,' Lydia said.
Dul, who was driving underage, underwent intensive medical treatment for three weeks at Pondok Indah Hospital in Jakarta following fatal pile up that killed seven people and injured 11 others on Sept. 8. (hrl/dic)
