West Kalimantan Governor Cornelis filed a police report on Wednesday against a local resident for defamation
West Kalimantan Governor Cornelis filed a police report on Wednesday against a local resident for defamation.
'We have filed a police report relating to a defamatory statement made in public against the governor,' Cornelis' lawyer, Andel, said on Wednesday.
The report, which was filed with the West Kalimantan Police, was made against Yustinus Jhony Tampubolon, alias Jinku, who accused the governor of pointing a gun at him last Thursday. Jinku also claimed that Cornelis' adjutant had poured a cup of coffee over his (Jinku's) head at a coffee stall in the village of Bodok, Sanggau regency.
Jinku is known to be in Jakarta where, in turn, he has filed a report with the National Police. Thursday's incident became a hot topic of conversation in the province after Cornelis offered a public clarification on Friday.
