W. Kalimantan gov files police report

West Kalimantan Governor Cornelis filed a police report on Wednesday against a local resident for defamation.

'€œWe have filed a police report relating to a defamatory statement made in public against the governor,'€ Cornelis'€™ lawyer, Andel, said on Wednesday.

The report, which was filed with the West Kalimantan Police, was made against Yustinus Jhony Tampubolon, alias Jinku, who accused the governor of pointing a gun at him last Thursday. Jinku also claimed that Cornelis'€™ adjutant had poured a cup of coffee over his (Jinku'€™s) head at a coffee stall in the village of Bodok, Sanggau regency.

Jinku is known to be in Jakarta where, in turn, he has filed a report with the National Police. Thursday'€™s incident became a hot topic of conversation in the province after Cornelis offered a public clarification on Friday.
