irector of state-owned Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN),Maryono, announced that BTN had disbursed loan money totaling Rp 2 trillion forthe construction of 20,000 low-cost houses in Banten.
Maryono said that PT Mandiri Mega Jaya would be the project's developer and that the houses would be built across 5,000 hectares of land.
'We are still concentrating on the development of low-cost houses,' he said, adding that the project would be carried out in several phases.
He said that as of now, BTN together with Mandiri Mega had secured 3,000 hectares of land for the building work.
Meanwhile, Benny Tjokrosaputro, director of Mandiri Mega, said the company planned to build the housing complex near to a train station so that the homes' owners could easily commute between Banten and Jakarta.
