According to information received by The Jakarta Post, Densus 88 officers raided the house of a 50-year-old former school teacher, Suardi, in Alinge village, Ulaweng subdistrict.
Suardi was killed during the raid, while his friends - identified as UM, 37, and UKM, 17 ' were taken into police custody.
Densus 88 personnel confiscated two handguns, ammunition and a machete from the two men.
South Sulawesi Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Endi Sutendi confirmed the raid but declined to elaborate on the alleged involvement of the three men in terrorism.
'For further information, please contact the National Police,' Endi said on Thursday. As of Thursday evening, National Police officials had not confirmed the raid.
