Irregularities found at Koja hospital

H

ouse of Representatives Commission IX on health calledon Governor Joko '€œJokowi'€ Widodo to take harsh actions against irregularitiescommitted by the city-owned Koja Hospital in giving health services to thepublic.

The city'€™s Health Agency, in its recent unscheduled field tour of the hospital, found a number of middlemen had played a role in selling health services to patients who were required to buy tickets to get health services and doctor consultations.

'€œOur commission fully supports the Health Agency'€™s unexpected visit to the hospital to see what'€™s happening in the field. The brokerage and the ticket sales show irregularities in the city-owned hospital'€™s management,'€ Poempida Hidayatullah, a member of the commission, said in a press release here on Tuesday.

Poempida, also a politician of the Golkar Party, said the governor should summon the hospital'€™s director and take action against those who were responsible for the irregularities.

He said the governor should take harsh action as such irregularities could undermine his free health care program (KJS).

'€œThe program should not be undermined by such irregularities committed by corrupt officials and officers,'€ he said.
