refer to The Jakarta Post from Oct. 30, which published three stereotype-breaking features. The topics you had chosen, Syrian Christians, gay Lebanese and Ultra-Orthodox singers in Israel, were real eye-openers for me.
I have also found similar content in different pages and editions that has also been helpful.
Stereotypes are mostly made by media. Therefore, to me, providing such content as I talk about above is very important. Especially when so much violence in the name of religion has occurred in this country and people's interactions often depend on just social stigma.
While some news sources promote prejudice in their content, the Post takes up a healing role for my fragile ethnocentrism. Therefore, I give my deepest appreciation to the Post.
I am a new reader, since a half-year ago. From reading your pluralistic coverage of different traditions, I have officially become your supporter.
I hope similar features will be published more often. Thinking of all the diverse ethnic groups in Indonesia, it will be great if the Post writes about them too.
