Murder case prisoner escapes Nusakambangan maximum security prison

he Cilacap Police have announced a prisoner by the name of Ahmad Yusufaka Oji had fled the Batu maximum security prison in Nusakambangan Island, offshore of Cilacap. According to the police, Ahmad never returned to the prisonafter being ordered to dump garbage outside the compound.
Cilacap Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Andry Triaspoetra said he had ordered his officers to close all exit points of the island. He also had all entry points in Cilacap strictly guarded.
'We have monitored all possible accesses both from the island and in Cilacap as well with the hope that it could narrow down the fugitive's movement,' Andry said on Friday.
Commenting on this, head of Penitentiary division of the Central Java's Law and Human Rights office Hermawan Yunianto admitted that the prison guards were being sloppy by letting the prisoner out without being proper monitored.
'He managed to escape the prison because of the lack of guards monitoring,' he said.
Ahmad had done 12 out of 20 years of imprisonment for murder at the Batu maximum prison. (dic)
