Separately, Sunarto of UGM's student affairs directorate said alternative energy like this could not be built in the form of one big wind turbine on a single site, but had to be built in the form of many small generators.
Sunarto also said the organizing committee received some 60 proposals for participation in the event but there were only 31 teams considered eligible for the competition.
Viktoria Suhartini of the Education and Culture Ministry expressed her support for the program.
'All the expenses for this competition are paid for by the Education and Culture Ministry,' Victoria said.
