euku Bagus Muhammad Noor, former director at state-ownedconstruction company PT Adhi Karya, was locked up by the Corruption EradicationCommission (KPK) on Friday for his alleged role in the Hambalang sports complexgraft case.
Teuku was detained at Salemba Penitentiary in Central Jakarta after being questioned regarding the allegation that he abused his authority while manager of the Hambalang project joint-operation scheme.
Teuku's lawyer Aryo Budi Wibowo said his client was a victim in the case.
'It's very clear that Adhi Karya was manipulated and extorted,' he said, without elaborating.
Aryo, however, said that his client had admitted that cash collected from rigging the Hambalang project flowed to numerous politicians and government officials and added that individuals from the upper echelons, such as at the State-Owned Enterprises Ministry, should be named suspects in the case.
He mentioned Muhayat, a deputy in the service and business department at the ministry and father of Democratic Party politician Munadi Herlambang, as one of the complicit officials.
