ndonesia's mixed-doubles shuttlers Tontowi Ahmad andLiliyana Natsir will skip the Hong Kong Open Superseries 2013 and the 27thSoutheast Asian Games (SEA Games), because they are focusing on preparationsfor the BWF Super Series Finals in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Dec. 11-15.
The two competitions will not affect their world ranking, which is currently second place behind China's Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei.
'From Shanghai, we will directly return to Jakarta to practice. We will not take part at the Hong Kong Superseries 2013,'said Liliyana-- who recently snapped up another title at the China Open Super Series-- in a statement on Monday.
The Hong Kong Open Superseries will be held from Nov. 18-24 at the Hong Kong Stadium Coliseum, while the SEA Games will be held from Dec. 11-22 in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar, which coincides with the BWF Super Series Premier Finals.
While Tontowi and Liliyana focus on the BWF finals, men's doubles pair Angga Pratama/Rian Agung Saputro and mixed doubles Ronald Alexander/Debby Susanto will be absent from the Hong Kong tournament due to their tight preparation for the upcoming SEA Games where badminton is expected to contribute three golds and two silver medals
