PT AP II president director Tri S. Sunoko said a team would be formed comprising representatives of each party to work out the cooperation.
'The team will consist of representatives from the provincial administration, the airport operator, the province-owned enterprise and the Indonesian Flight Navigation Service (PPNPI),' he said after meeting West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan on Monday.
'The team will formulate the scheme and steps to build Kertajati [airport]. It will also set the investment amount, operation plan, responsibilities and dividend allocation for each party.'
Ahmad said the management of the new airport, the runway of which is currently being hardened, would follow a business-to-business plan.
'The team will decide on the business model, including the participation of private investors,' he said, adding that the central government had so far disbursed Rp 135 billion (US$11.72 million) for the planned airport, which will have two 4,000-by-60-meter runways.
Currently, major airports in Indonesia are managed by two state airport operators, PT AP I and PT AP II.
The provincial administration is responsible for acquiring 1,800 hectares of land, with only 718.5 ha having been acquired. It hopes to acquire 1,000 ha by 2014.
